I have a client who is gay from India and has a twin soul relationship. She knew who she was but because of Indian culture, religion beliefs and beliefs systems she chose to not accept her true self, who she was on the inside and chose what her parents, family, friends, relatives wanted her to accept and so like every other Indian women or men she chose to get married to her parents choice. Now her parents did not know this about her. And her thinking was ok I will give it a try.
Let’s see how this played out when you don’t stand up for your truth. 2 years in the marriage completely frustrated she came to the point that she no longer can deny who she is and no longer this thinking about trying works for her as it is ruining her from the inside. She is unhappy in her marriage and unable to give her husband that he wants from her and this marriage. And this realization came about when she met her twin soul, she fell in love with her of course because they are twin souls. Unable to deny that connection, the love she had for her she chose to come clean with her husband and her family and apply for the divorce. Now something to note by making this choice she firstly chose her soul over ‘others’, she chose her true self, she chose to take a stand for who she is and for the love, she chose to fight for what belongs to her.
We know in a patriarchy society being different is not accepted because that is who they are. No creation, no different, all the same. Makes life quite boring and suffocating to live. And to beat this system she had to come to an understanding that being our trueself and standing up for what belongs to us requires courage every step of this path requires courage and rightfully so. We had courage to accept and allow others guiding us so now we have to use that same courage to undo. And when we choose to undo watch how what you allowed and accepted comes to defy your every step, every move. Because you were the one who accepted, allowed and asked them to guide you and now you are taking that priviledge back from them right? how dare we do that? We cannot sit and blame and be a victim of the situation and circumstance. No matter who and what is threatening you. You still hold the power in your hands about choice. If you stand for you, then you will be supported in every way, every step. But the key is to stay on it not to divert again like you did before.
The path of true love, path of walking and being soul is not hard at all. We make it hard by accepting and allowing and believing what does not belong to us. By walking away from our soul and higher mind and accepting and allowing that which is outside of us to guide us, showing us the glimmer when its merely just an illusion is when rocky terrain of hurt, rage, anger, blame steps in. And then we begin to question what happened everything was so amazing and loving and she or he became this monster.
